Tuna Pasta Salad

This easy Tuna Pasta Salad tastes exactly like the one you had growing up, or maybe even better than that!

Ingredients
  

Noodles

  • 1 pound elbow macaroni or small shell pasta Or substitute another small pasta shape.

Tuna

  • 4 cans tuna packed in water Drained. Or 4 packets (2.6 oz each).

Dressing and Vegetables

  • 1 cup mayonnaise Or less to taste.
  • cup celery Finely chopped (about 1 rib).
  • 2 tablespoons red onion Minced, about 2 small slices.
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic Minced.
  • 1 cup frozen peas Thawed.
  • salt To taste.
  • black pepper Freshly ground, to taste.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large pot, bring 4 quarts of water and 1 tablespoon salt to a boil. Add pasta and cook until soft, not al dente, about 12 minutes. Drain well, rinse with cold water, and drain again.
  • Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, combine tuna, mayonnaise, celery, onion, relish, lemon juice, and garlic. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • In a large bowl, add cooled noodles, tuna salad, and peas, and stir to combine. Chill until serving time.

Notes

Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Some separation may occur, so stir the pasta salad before enjoying again.
