Equipment

  • medium bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons finely minced onion
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise and ketchup, whisking until smooth and evenly blended.
  • Add the sweet pickle relish, white vinegar, and sugar, then mix thoroughly.
  • Stir in the finely minced onion, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed and the dressing is smooth.
  • Adjust the consistency by adding a small amount of water or extra vinegar if needed.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning to your preference.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to develop.
  • Stir before serving and enjoy with salads, sandwiches, or as a dip.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute part of the mayonnaise with Greek yogurt. Letting the dressing chill longer enhances the flavor significantly. Finely chopping the onion ensures a smoother, more balanced texture.
