Ingredients
  

Marinade

  • 3 tablespoons za’atar spice blend
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Chicken and Sauce

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons water to thin tahini
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • fresh parsley for garnish
  • lemon wedges for serving

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine za’atar, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  • Place the chicken breasts in a resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it’s well coated. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade and place it on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and has an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  • While the chicken is baking, whisk together tahini, water, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt in a bowl until smooth. Adjust the water to reach your desired consistency.
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes.
  • Cut the chicken into slices and arrange it on a serving platter.
  • Generously drizzle the tahini sauce over the sliced chicken.
  • Sprinkle fresh parsley on top for a pop of color and added freshness.
  • Serve with lemon wedges on the side for an extra zing.
